Brown Food Rhapsody - Fish & Chips

This series explores how the state of our mind can greatly impact our physical wellness. When my mom and dad traveled out of Japan to the western country of the UK for the first time in their lives, they were absolutely gobsmacked by the cultural differences, one of which is, of course, food. They rather loved the oily, stodgy, well-cooked, traditional food that quenches the soul of Britain. The pieces are created using swatches of silk kimono fabric that are three generations old. These swatches were passed down to me from my mother, who had also inherited them from her father.
