‘A Better Place’ was my first tapestry work. It features Cosmos flowers, which were my mother's favorite. She lost her battle with cancer in 2021, and I created this tapestry imagining where she is now.
 
While sorting through my mother's art studio, I discovered a cache of vintage silk kimono swatches passed down to my mother from her father. As I explored the history of these swatches and made appliqué artworks, my heart began to heal.
